About:
Dickon McCarthy is an Acoustic Solo Artist, based in Cambridge, U.K.
With music ranging from quite understated and intricate to more complex and layered in sound. Dickon pushes himself technically, always exploring new ways to create. Percussion, tapping and finger-style are a few of the methods he implements.
Originally learning to play the guitar by listening to Folk and Alternative acoustic music; over time his style has evolved into a hybrid between a number of genres, even taking elements from Rock and Metal music.
Vocally, influences can be heard from Classic Rock/Soul. But with a modern edge often present.
In October 2017 he released his self-recorded debut album ‘Free Man’. All tracks are 1 vocal layer, 1 guitar layer, with the majority being recorded in 1 take.
